## Strange Coil Whine Pattern on RTX 4090
**System Specs:**
- **GPU:** NVIDIA RTX 4090 FE
- **CPU:** Intel i9-14900K
- **Motherboard:** ASUS ROG Maximus Z790 Hero
- **PSU:** Seasonic Prime TX-1000
- **RAM:** 64GB DDR5-7200
**Problem Description:**
Coil whine only occurs under VERY specific conditions:
1. **Only in game menus** (not during gameplay)
2. **Only at exact 240 FPS** (my monitor refresh rate)
3. **Only when FPS is unlocked** (capped FPS = no whine)
4. **Whine frequency changes** with menu animations
**What I've Tried:**
Different PSU (Corsair HX1200)
Different power cables (3x 8-pin from different sets)
Different PCIe slot
Undervolting GPU
Limiting power to 80%
Frame capping to 237 FPS (fixed it, but why?)
**Weird Observations:**
- Whine is loudest in Cyberpunk main menu
- Changes pitch with menu cursor movement
- Completely silent during 4K ray tracing gameplay
- Only happens with DisplayPort, not HDMI (same monitor)
**Audio Recording:** [Attached]
**Questions:**
1. Is this dangerous for the GPU?
2. Could it be monitor/VRR related?
3. Any permanent fixes besides frame capping?
4. Should I RMA or is this "normal"?
*Note: Performance is otherwise perfect. Timespy score: 38,456.*
