Midnight Snack Recommendations for Coders

What are your go-to midnight snacks while working?

My current rotation:
- Trail mix (almonds, walnuts, dark chocolate)
- Greek yogurt with honey
- Dark chocolate (85%+)
- Coffee (obviously) with a dash of cinnamon
- Apple slices with almond butter

Looking for healthier alternatives and new ideas!

Air-popped popcorn with nutritional yeast! Low calorie, high fiber, and the yeast adds a cheesy flavor with B vitamins.

Other favorites:
- Roasted chickpeas (crispy!)
- Seaweed snacks
- Cottage cheese with everything bagel seasoning
- Frozen grapes (like mini sorbet)
- Carrot sticks with hummus

Protein shakes keep me going. Quick to make, fills you up, and helps with those late-night cravings.

My recipe:
- 1 scoop vanilla protein
- 1 cup almond milk
- 1/2 frozen banana
- Spoon of peanut butter
- Ice cubes

Blend and enjoy! No crash afterwards.

I'm a fan of:
- Hard boiled eggs (prepared in advance)
- String cheese
- Almonds or mixed nuts
- Beef jerky (low sodium)
- Dark chocolate covered almonds

The key is having things prepped so you don't reach for junk food at 2 AM!

For those really late nights:
- Cold brew coffee (less acidic)
- Turkey slices
- Pickles (surprisingly refreshing)
- Rice cakes with avocado
- Chia seed pudding (make ahead)

Hydration is key too - always have water nearby!

One more: frozen blueberries! They're like nature's candy and packed with antioxidants.

Also, herbal tea instead of more coffee after midnight. Chamomile or peppermint help with digestion and sleep when you finally decide to call it a night.
