Gaming PC Suddenly Running Very Slow - Help!

My gaming PC was running fine yesterday but today it's extremely slow. Games that ran at 144fps are now struggling to hit 30fps. Task Manager shows CPU at 100% even when idle. Malwarebytes scan came back clean. Any ideas?

Check your power settings - make sure it's not on power saver mode. Also check temperatures with HWMonitor. Could be thermal throttling. Run "sfc /scannow" in command prompt as admin to check for system file corruption.

Had similar issue last week. Turned out Windows was running a background update. Check Windows Update and also look in Task Manager for any suspicious processes.

Check your power plan in Windows. Sometimes updates reset it to "Power Saver" which caps CPU performance.

Run Malwarebytes and HitmanPro to check for malware. Also look for Bitcoin miners in Task Manager.
